Indian Cricket Team : A win not to celebrate

Team India is on first rank today in its group with 7 points highest in the group table without a single defeat so far. But is it good enough for our cricket team? As we have played with all the below average teams so far in the group.

Keeping first match apart, India's performance never excited huge Indian fan following and team India failed to amaze the audience and the cricket lovers country wide. We had almost lost the match against England and even with teams like Ireland and Netherlands, we struggled to win. And guess what, we are dreaming to win the World Cup by defeating countries like Australia, SA, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Even in the group the left two matches are with two great teams SA & WI. Most of the Indians would have already predicted that India is gonna loose at least one of these two matches. No prize on guessing who is going to be the defeating team.

With such a craze and passion for Cricket in this country of more than 1 billion fans across the country, we dont have a strong 11 squad to defeat the teams from relatively very small and less cricket-loving countries. Where do we lag? Is it the consistency or is it the players who never fail while advertising but they fail on the fields from where they have become popular? Consistency is the major problem in the team. We never know which player is going to hit a century or even a half century today. We have 7 top ranked batsman in the team and we struggle to win against team like Ireland and Netherlands.

Lets hope everything goes well with the team. Till now entry in quarter final is assured. Thanks to the weak countries in the group who helped a lot in this. Even now we have time to improve the performance because quarter final is going to be knock out and we all know what does it mean to Team India.
