Facebook plans to achieve 1 billion users

Facebook has aimed to reach 1billion users now and facebook mobile is going to play a major role in this. As per the FB survey, mobile users are more active in compare to non-mobile users. In order to make itself available on larger set of mobiles, Facebook has acquired Snaptu which had been working over facebook apps till now.

Snaptu is an Israeli mobile startup which has been acquired by FB at around $70 mn. It has ben doing tremendous job bringing a Facebook app to over 2500 different mobile devices. Acquiring Snaptu clarifies the vision of Facebook and it is crystal clear now that it is gonna hit the mobile market to achieve the target of 1 billion users.

Not only Snaptu, Facebook has also acquired the group messaging app Beluga earlier this month and the local mobile advertising startup Rel8tion in late January. It surely points towards the outstanding facebook mobile market which we are going to witness in coming days.
