HLP : Revolutionary display technology

HLP or Holographic Laser Projection is the latest revolution in the display technology which uses holographic technology to create 2D images.

Using this technology, the desired image is transformed into sets of diffraction patterns and these patterns are shown on a tiny micr
o-display. Later this micro-display is illuminated by laser light and the projected image is formed by diffraction. These patterns are highly efficient they do not block light, but steer it to exactly where it is needed and away from where it is not.

Multiple patterns are calculated, each of which forms a rough version of the image. When viewed in rapid succession, the eye evens out the noise and perceives a single, clearly defined image. So you get efficient, high quality video in real time.

HLP enables the display with rich and vivid colors with centrally focused images. Apart from this, it is also capable enough to project over a curved surface perfectly and if implemented with a wide throw angle
, it can create large images very close to the projector.

In short HLP enables integration of infrared sensing technology and creates an interactive projector
that instantly transforms any flat surface into a touch screen.

A campus placement drive in Tihar Jail

Recently, i came to know about a one of its kind placement drive in Delhi. And to our surprise, the venue for this interview was Tihar Jail. It is the most special campus placement i have ever heard of, a brilliant effort, an innovative approach, which is very rare in India.

Eight companies come up for the interview of around 46 eligible candidates fulfilling the three criteria mentioned below :
  1. They had impeccable conduct inside the jail where they utilized their time to gain education and vocational skills.
  2. They all expect to be released within a year or so.
  3. They were keen to rehabilitate themselves and lead a new life.
Out of these 46 candidates 14 were able to make the best out of this opportunity. They not only ended this drive with their job letters, they also got tickets to a new life of dignity. Others are waiting for rest couple of days when they will be interviewed by other companies.

CLICK HERE to know how they experienced after interview and also a few words from the DG(Prisons).

Bollywood and Cricket Craze

In India, we eat cricket, we drink cricket and we live Cricket. In short Cricket is deep into everyone's life in this country. So is the craze of cricket in India that it has always been one of the major course of fascination for the film makers in Bollywood. Its a popular proverb in India that there are just two things popular - Cricket and Bollywood. Now its obvious, when these two popular aspects of entertainment go together, they have to rock the market. A number of movies have been directed in Bollywood on this concept and most of them have become a great success and some have even proved to be block busters.

Here are the top three Bollywood movies picked from the long list of Cricket based pictures who have provided the Cricket loving audience of India a nice mixture of both the game and the Bollywood "masala".

1. LAGAAN : The film, starred by Aamir Khan and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, nominated for the prestigious Oscar Awards was set in the Victorian period of the British Raj, and it tells about the resilience, spirit, inspiration and team work of the rustic villagers. With almost one hour of cricket match between Britishers and the villagers, the film was a big hit as it was able to strike the cord in people's mind.

2. IQBAL : Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, it is a story of a deaf and dumb boy from a remote Indian village, played by Shreyas Talpade, who fights all the odds to fulfil his dream, to play for the Indian National Cricket Team. Convincingly narrated and sensitively handled, Iqbal succeeds in touching the core of your heart a number of times in those two hours.

3. PATIALA HOUSE : Released recently starring Akshay Kumar who has played the role of a young cricket loving British Indian whose passion for Cricket falls in conflict with his father's aspirations. Directed by Nikhil Advani, Patiala House is also a story about family ties and duty, a yearning to follow one's dreams, and trying to make sense of the dichotomies that life presents when one's family has migrated to another land.

Gadget of the year 2010 : Light Touch

There has been a  plethora of gadgets in the year 2010 including innovative smart phones, notebooks, softwares, tablets and various others. The rise of the applications market, new smart phones, touch screens and more powerful processors are all up in the market to ensure that our day-to-day interactions with technology is becoming faster, easier and above all these more entertaining. A few of these striking new gadgets have already achieved a lot of attention during the last days but depending on the voting from geeks all over the world, the gadget LIGHT TOUCH was the most fascinating among all of them.

Gadget of the year 2010, Light Touch launched by Light Blue Optics last year is a marvel, it can beam a virtual computer on to any flat surface, allowing users to tap away as though on a proper keyboard. This 400g gadget with support of upto 32 GB memory is bundles with a lot of features. It’s not commercially available across the globe yet. But this Cambridge-based company is hoping to license the technology to other manufacturers. Hold your breath and watch out because once it goes on the sale, it could herald a shift in the way we interact with the world around us.

Google sending you someone else's mails

All of you might have received a message at least once which are not intended to you. They would have been sent to some other IDs not yours but these IDs resemble yours with a different placement of dots. Like suppose if your email ID is atul.anand@gmail.com and then u might receive mails sent to atulanand@gmail.com or atula.nand@gmail.com.

Do not believe it? Even i did not. Check it out yourself. Login into your gmail account and send mails to IDs resembling yours with some different placements of dots or with some extra dots (in case you do not have dots in your mails). You will be surprised getting these mails back to you. So, whats going on?

Gmail allows only one registration for any given username. Once you sign up for a particular username, any dot or capitalization variations are made permanently unavailable for new registration. If you created yourusername@gmail.com, no one can ever register your.username@gmail.com, or Your.user.name@gmail.com. Furthermore, because Gmail doesn't recognize dots as characters within usernames, adding or removing dots from a Gmail address won't change the actual destination address. Messages sent to yourusername@gmail.com, your.username@gmail.com, and y.o.u.r.u.s.e.r.n.a.m.e@gmail.com are all delivered to your inbox, and only yours.

You might even get messages from mailing lists or website registrations because the intended recipient accidentally provided the wrong email address. In these cases, better contacting the original sender or website when possible to alert them to the mistake so that they correct their records.

Do we have democracy in India

We had CBI interrogations, we had raids but still there are no FIRs against ministers and top bureaucrats caught red handed. We have celebrated 61st birthday of our constitution which is not at all alive. We have democracy, equality, justice and law just left as few words in our country. Have a quick look at what came out after all these inquiries for the top 4 scams last year :
GOOD | NEUTRAL | BAD | WORST
Adarsh Scam
:
  • The latest news is that Maharashtra’s former Chief SIC Dr Suresh Joshi – who moved the Adarsh file at two crucial points — has been appointed as Ombudsman of MERC.
  • Former MMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Ratnakar Gaikwad was made Chief Secretary of Maharashtra.
  • Former CM Vilasrao Deshmukh elevated to Union Rural Development minister.
  • Former CM Sushil Kumar Shinde continues as Union Power minister.
  • State Information Commissioner (SIC) Ramanand Tiwari was suspended.
  • Environment Minister ordered Adarsh to be demolished, and so far, State Govt. has adopted a tough stance. Water and power supply to the building have been cut off.
  • Human Rights Commissioner Subhash Lalla and then Chief Minister Ashok Chavan resigned when the scam surfaced, and is lying low. (But sooner or later, both will be made a central minister.)
  • NO FIR … NOT A SINGLE ONE AGAINST ANYBODY, BIG OR SMALL!
CWG Scam :
  • Three of Suresh Kalmadi’s “key aides” – T S Darbari, Sanjay Mahendroo and K Jeychandran – have been released on bail, as CBI could not file a chargesheet within the 60-day period.
  • At long last, Suresh Kalmadi and Lalit Bhanot, Chairman & General Secretary of Indian Olympic Association (IOA) were sacked from the Commonwealth Games Organizing Committee, “in the interest of impartial and unhindered investigations”. However, CBI and CAG are both nearing the end of their investigations, and therefore, this move is of token value. Kalmadi and Bhanot enjoyed over three months in their executive positions, giving them plenty of time to tamper with documentary evidence.
  • NO FIR AGAINST KING-PINS SURESH KALMADI & LALIT BHANOT.
2G Scam :
  • After Kapil Sibal took over the reins of the telecom ministry, he is busy covering up for his predecessor A Raja, and publicly brushing aside CAGs estimates of the staggering loss to the exchequer. Raja was left in his seat long enough to hide all the evidence.
  • THE POSSIBILITY OF AN FIR AGAINST MR RAJA APPEARS TO BE ZERO.
Lavasa Scam :
  • Ministry of Environment & Forests (MOEF) has concluded that Lavasa was built without the necessary permissions… but nobody is even looking at Sharad Pawar, Ajit Pawar and Supriya Sule, although their involvement is public knowledge.
  • Nobody is looking at Lavasa Corporation’s chief Ajit Gulabchand, who has been allowed to practically steal a large part of Pune’s water-supply at its source.
  • Instead of taking action to stop this criminal building activity, MOEF is exploring ways and means to regularize this ghetto of the super-rich.
  • NO FIR IS IN SIGHT, DESPITE SEVERAL CRIMINAL WRONGDOINGS.

Google's Impact across the Globe

Google, the internet giant has surprised the whole world with its rapid growth and innovative products. Google market is spread all over the earth except few countries where its services are restricted because of privacy violation and censored.

The report above is market domination by Google across the globe in the FY 2010. The golden zone being Poland, Spain, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, France and UK all more than 90% market domination. India is at 8th position w.r.t market domination by Google along with Italy with 86% of market. Domination is very less in countries like China and Korea reason being the blocked and censored Google services.

Keeping a few countries apart the average market coverage is 80%, now thats a mind blowing figure.

Google into our life

If you ask any internet user, be it an IT Professional or a normal student, which site do you find the most useful on world wide web. There is just one answer - Google. By the time people get introduced with internet, they get inroduced with Google through its search engine-the most popular search engine ever.

If you want to search something you use Google Search. If you want to access your mail account, you use GMail. If you want to get connected with friends, you use Orkut. You need to share and view videos, you look for YouTube. You want to know a route to some unknown location in your city or in some other, you use Google Maps. In short, Google is everywhere, in each and every step of our life. Imagining world wide web without Google has  become very tough now.

Apart from the services mentioned above, there are numerous other services offered by Google including Google Earth, Blogger, Picasa etc. CLICK HERE for a complete list of services offered by Google. And the best thing is you need not pay to use any of these services. All these services and offerings are free from Google to be used by all of us.

This is the reason, why Google is so much into our life that it can monitor all activities going on in the life of a person. Who all are your friends, where are you currently located, to whom you are dating and various other personal questions of your life can be answered by Google. From this one can easily predict what power and capability Google holds within it. This may be a reason why countries like China and others have blocked and censored some of the services offered by Google.

Obama's Silicon Valley dinner

Last Thursday, US President Brack Obama called up a dinner meet for a number of the Silicon Valley giants including Jobs and Zuckerberg. Though some of the major tech executives like IBM's Sam Palmisano were absent in the dinner meet. FYI, IBM makes 40% of the world's top 500 supercomputers. Palmisano doent need a dinner to meet President, if he needs to speak to the president, he will meet.

Obama was sitting next to the Internet Networking sensation Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg and America's most innovative Apple's CEO Jobs. I hope you all are well aware of the reason. Other key invitees were Oracle's Larry Ellison and Google's Eric Schmidt who was also acting as Obama's wingman int he meeting.

Surprisingly, Microsoft was not on the invite list. Obama has already met with Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer. In fact, Ballmer has been at the White House twice this year. This Silicon Valley dinner may been more about getting some people, Jobs and Ellison in particular, to play a more active role on policy issues. Possible reason for Microsoft not being on the list.

The dinner was held at venture capitalist John Doerr's house. Why? John Doerr is to venture capital what Steven Spielberg is to movies and Obama needs his help. Doerr has been a particularly strong advocate of Obama's push for green investment. In the fight over the federal budget, Obama may be counting him.

Over all, this meet of President Obama was all about US business needs.

Embeeded Industry pillars : from IVI to Android

IVI
Nowadays Embeeded Industry is on its inflection point after last two years of flat growth. The biggest key at this point is In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI). Large automobile players including BMW and Mercedes are investing heavily into it and is working in close collaboration with Intel and other giants followed by numerous mid-sized companies. On the other hand, solar power based stations in rural areas is an idea that is picking up. I think in the network infrastructure side people are thinking about how to cater to increasing demands of the rural market, thus seeing a sweet spot for themselves. Finally, the biggest driving force for the embedded industry is Android. With the smart phone market taking off in a big way, with Android, the possibilities is unlimited.

While the future does paint a rosy picture for this industry, it is still struggling with a big challenge – dearth of quality professionals. The industry, especially the embedded one, has a shortage of quality engineers who can conceive an idea. For the engineers today understanding the complete product itself is a challenge. Though most companies are looking at university models of evangelizing technology, a lot remains to be done. The other challenge is inability of Indian companies to develop a product that is global in nature. When can we see another Huawei in India?

Perhaps this is where entrepreneurship plays an important role. The next killer product in this space will probably from a startup. From an entrepreneur stand point it is extremely important that we come up with an idea for next generation product that the world can embrace. To start with they need to capture window that major MNCs are struggling with. If they get the right idea and timing for the product there will be no holding back.

Steve Jobs : Just six more weeks

Apple founder and CEO Steve Jobs, the man behind iPod, iPhone and iPad, has terminal pancreatic cancer and may live for just six more weeks. The 55-year-old Jobs in January announced that at his request, the board of directors granted him a medical leave of absence so that he could focus on his health.

The new photos show him looking painfully frail and weak, with his jeans and dark top hanging loosely on his six-feet-two-inches, frail body. T
he pictures were not yet available online, but Jobs's weight is said to have dropped from a pre-cancer 175 pounds to 130 pounds now.

His thinning hair was a sign of the effects of chemotherapy used to treat the disease.A per physicians : 'He is terminal. What you are seeing is extreme muscle wasting from calorie deprivation, most likely caused by cancer. He has no muscle left in his buttocks, which is the last place to go.'

Let us hope and wish him the best he can get out of the rest of his life.

Tragic story of an engineer

With time, the value and dignity of an engineering degree has degraded. Being a BE or BTech no more assures you a bright future or even a reputed job.

Ten years back, when i was in my SSC about to appear for 10th board, I was determined to get into a good engineering college if not IITs. After a few years,
the craze of being an engineer was over almost all science students and they were ready to invest lacs of money for an engineering degree.

In the present scenario, there are
uncountable engineering colleges across the country and even more are opening every month. Most of them taking admissions from back-door to get their seats filled keeping aside the education and facilities offered to students. Education has become a business in India resulting in a number of unemployed engineers every year which is causing a great loss to the country.

The
back-door entries with donations and the outnumbered colleges with no standard facilities and education level must be stopped immediately to maintain the quality of Indian engineers and bring back BE/BTech course to a reputed level again.

Begining of a new era in Bihar

BIHAR, once almost synonymous to despondency, is rising from the ashes of gloom and murkiness. The nearly infamous GDP growth rate of 11.03% that was termed as miracle after the dreadful past that saw this north eastern state decelerating, deteriorating and degrading.

Nitish Kumar is increasingly seen as a reformer and renovator with sturdy administrational qualities. Today, the streets of Bihar resemble grace as opposed to the crumpling bridges and dilapidated highways a decade ago. An overwhelming 6800 kilometers of roads, more than 1500 bridges, and an almost equal number of cesspits were constructed during Kumar’s tenure. The saga has been threaded together with many such incredible deeds. Today no politician can openly challenge the state police; no gunda, don or bandit can roam free on the roads after committing a crime and no mafia will be given protection by the government.

The Bihar government has been quick in filling the enormous number of vacancies in the police force, and what ensued was no surprise. Crime rates plunged by 50% straightaway, and the number of kidnapping followed by demand of ransom, which was once thought to be the only vocation in Bihar, has plummeted drastically from 1390 in the previous government’s term to 315 in Nitish Kumar’s tenure.

Tourism plays a part in the economy undoubtedly, and for Bihar in the past few years, the number of foreign tourists has gone up four-fold from near about 1 lakh to almost 4 lakhs. On the other hand, private educational institutions have come up and the creators of tomorrow – the teachers, as many as 100000 joined primary schools as a part of a major recruiting drive by the Nitish Kumar government.

So, is the effect of Nitish’s Panacea that with the BJP, Nitish's Janata Dal (United) won 206 of the 243 seats in last election registering a historical win for any state in India.

Scam & Cozenage redefined in India

Due to the active participation and dedication of early Congress leaders in the fight for freedom, the very popular Congress ruled India for continuous 30 years after British rule, before first non Congress govt. led by Morarji Desai came into power. Congress party was not just a party at that time, it was true leader in all means.

But now the glory and wisdom of Congress has diminished and it is no longer the same Congress of yore. We all are well aware of the scams and cozenage in lakhs of crores in last few years led by these Congress Leaders, at the same time when hundreds of people are dying everyday because of hunger and poverty. We have seen the black money $1,456 billion deposited in Swiss Bank by these corrupt leaders and bureaucrats which is 13 times the country's foreign debt.  Forwarding mails, SMS, in-office and on-road discussions regarding theses scams have made politicians like Koda, Radia, Kalmadi, Raja and Pawar very popular and they are now hot topics of discussion.

But the question is,
how are we going to end this corruption and corrupted leaders? This is sure that forwarding mails and discussions are not going to work it out.

Hereon, I invite your ideas to bring down the rising curve in India's corruption graph because we all Indians have to change ourselves before we change India.

Small IT comapnies @ India

New IT companies are opening everyday to fulfill the global need and demand of IT Services and Solutions. A number of graduates and masters from various universities across the country are opting for entrepreneurship rather than a job every year. This is no doubt, increasing the foreign revenue generated by the country from IT sector. Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune and Gurgaon are the top preferences for these entrepreneurs to start their business.

Though these companies are attracting global IT market towards India, but in the recent time they are also diminishing India's image as a global IT solution provider. Due to significantly low quotes and time bounded promises from such companies, the buyers sitting abroad hand over projects to the newbies rather than the experienced solutions providers offering higher rate for the same work. Now, we here recruit people at very low scale to decrease our overhead and deliver the solution in the price promised. But, this price cut in the research and development of the projects leads to the failure of projects or late deliveries. Most of the time, these buyers and very strict with time and any delay or non-ability in completion of the projects leads to business loss for them, sometimes extremely severe losses.

This leads to the dissatisfaction of the buyers with the Indian IT solution provider, blurring image of Indian IT services globally.

Find the two numbers?

Two whole numbers, m and n, have been chosen. Both are unequal to 1 and the sum of them is less than 100. The product, m × n, is given to mathematician X. The sum, m + n, is given to mathematician Y. Then both mathematicians have the following conversation:

X: "I have no idea what your sum is, Y."
Y: "That's no news to me, X. I already knew you didn't know that."
X: "Ahah! Now I know what your sum must be, Y!"
Y: "And now I also know what your product is, X!"

What are the numbers m and n?

Valentine Day : The Story Behind

All of u, excited and overwhelmed about the upcoming Valentine Day to spent the most beautiful moment with their love of life. Here is the true story behind 14th Feb : The VDay.

Numerous early Christian martyrs were named Valentine specially from Rome and Terni. There are varioius distinct stories behind of these Valentines but no romantic elements are present in the original early medieval biographies of any of these martyrs. By the time a Saint Valentine became linked to romance in the 14th century, who was buried on 14th February.

According to Legenda Aurea, the Roman Emperor Claudius II forced the men to remain single to grow his army, believing that married men did not make for good soldiers. The priest Valentine, however, secretly performed marriage ceremonies for young men against the Emperor. When Claudius found out about this, he had Valentine arrested and thrown in jail. Before his execution, he is reported to have performed a miracle by healing the blind daughter of his jailer.

As per sayings : On the evening before Valentine was to be executed, he had written the first "valentine" card himself, addressed to a young girl variously identified as his beloved, as the jailer's daughter whom he had befriended and healed or both. It was a note that read "From your Valentine".

Since then, Valentine's Day is an annual commemoration held on February 14 celebrating love and affection between intimate companions.

And they call India a poor country

A very shocking news!
If black money deposits were an Olympics event. India would have won a gold medal hands down. Here are the details of black money deposits in Swiss bank :
  • India      $1,456 billion
  • Russia    $ 470 billion
  • UK          $390 billion
  • Ukraine  $100 billion
  • China     $ 96 billion
Now do the maths - India with $1456 billion or $1.4 trillion has more money in Swiss banks than rest of the world combined. The second best, Russia has 4 times lesser deposit. US is not even there in the counting in top five!!

Dishonest industrialists, scandalous politicians and corrupt IAS, IRS, IPS officers have deposited in foreign banks in their illegal personal accounts a sum of about $ 1500 billion, which have been misappropriated by them.

This amount is about 13 times larger than the country’s foreign debt. With this amount 45 crore poor people can get Rs 1,00,000 each. This huge amount has been appropriated from the people of India by exploiting and betraying them.

The good news is Swiss bank is ready to unveil the names of the account holder only if the country govt. requests the same but due to well known reasons Indian govt. is not ready for the same. Lets forward it worldwide to spread this message to all Indians to expose the high and mighty and weed out corruption !!
