Nokia, in 2009 filed a series of suits against Apple. The company was accused of infringing on 17 patents related to wireless handsets. Nokia asked the ITC(International Trade Commission) that Apple be banned from importing the offending devices. Apple countersued, charging Nokia with infringing 13 Apple patents related to the iPhone.
Today, ITC judge James Gildea stated that Apple is not in violation of these Nokia's patents.Though, its not a final decision as ITC may either agree to the stetement given by Gildea or throw it out for hearing later this summer.
In total, its a busy period for Apple on legal front as recently Kodak has also claimed that Apple and RIM are infringing on image-previewing patents in mobile devices The fights for patent is on and the tech giants across the world going all around ITC for the judgements.
