What to expect from iCloud - Apple's online cloud service

Apple unveiled this Tuesday about its new service Apple iCloud-Apple's online cloud service which Steve Jobs will be announcing Monday next week. Apple has been working on this since last few years but now with the prior release of Amazon Cloud drive and Google music, Apple need to come up with something more useful than just an online media locker which is already being available by its competitors.

Here are the some of the key benefits that will play major role in the future of Apple's iCloud :

Scan and match: Analysts believe Apple's iCloud will offer several added benefits, including so-called "scan and match" capabilities. Apple is reportedly negotiating licensing deals with record labels so that iTunes can scan users libraries and match those songs with online versions hosted on Apple's servers. That will allow users to stream any song in their library without uploading their music.

Subscription service for a fee: The negative point of this service will be the subscription fee. While Amazon and Google offer their cloud music products for free, Apple is expected to charge near about $100 a year for this service. This subscription fee will make Apple go in par with other chargeable service providers like Napster and Microsoft who charge more or less the same.

More than just music: As per analysts, you can except more than just music from iCloud. iCloud is supposed to eventually allow users to stream TV shows and even movies, so the subscription may come up with movies, TV shows along with music. For the video streaming services, Apple is expected to extend its TV model to the iCloud service, offering one-time streaming rentals for under $5.

Just iOS: Following the Apple's wall garden pattern of providing technology, iCloud will also run probably on iPod, an iPad or an iPhone. The reason Apple does this to boost up the sells of the devices but this may also make iCloud go out of the competition. Its an old Apple's trend, they simply don't care about other platforms.
