Google introduces +1 button to optimize search results for everyone

Google has introduced +1 button mimicking Facebook's Like button. This latest attempt of Google in the race of being relevant in social networking space, allows people to share helpful search links with their friends and colleagues.

Very soon you will be seeing a +1 button next to all the links you get as the Google search result. Once users click on this button he will recommend links to all the people in his gmail contact list. The +1 button is going to be both with search results and advertisements on result page.

This will also enhance the search results, for example, if you're looking for a new pasta recipe, search results could be populated with +1's from your culinary genius friend. You could also, for instance, see how many people recommend your local coffee shop.

You can also take this +1 button as a shorthand for this is pretty cool and using this you can guide our friends through search results. So this step will be like adding human element to the current automated search mechanism of Google. For now, Google is limiting +1 to its search results, but in the coming weeks, it will start introducing the buttons on other Google products. There is also a future plan to embed it with third party web applications just like Facebook's like button.
