Google's major step towards gesture recognition is the GMail Motion. Still in its beta version, this new technology from Google lets you control your email account with your body. This is a major step in human computer interaction eliminating usage of ages old mouse and keyboard.With the in-built cam mounted on your desktop or installed in your laptop, it captures the motion signals and uses Google's patented spatial tracking technology to detect your movements and translate them into meaningful characters and commands. Movements are designed to be simple and intuitive for people of all skill levels.
Though, its yet to discover how useful this can be in real-time as you can see the gestures assigned look much like that of a person on high traffic. You can use it to have fun and explore the technology but i don't think people will like to use it in their day-to-day mailing works.
